About
Paul Conway was born and raised in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, IL. At the age of 13, Paul attended Quigley Preparatory Seminary North in downtown Chicago preparing for a lifetime of dedication in service to the Archdiocese of Chicago as a Catholic priest. Changing course from the seminary after four years, Paul enlisted in the US Army at the age of 19 as an M1A1 tank crewman. He served as a tank driver for three years in Mannheim, Germany before returning again to Chicago for another six years of intense theatre.
"Tank Boy" studied acting at the Theatre School of DePaul University, improvisation at Chicago's Second City, and scene study at LA's Beverly Hills Playhouse and Hollywood's Actors Playpen. Paul's stage career includes leading roles in over 30 full-length plays, most recently co-starring with Gregory Itzin (President Logan, "24") in the absurd comedy, ROAD TO NIRVANA.
Paul and his partner, Warren Ostergard, began a small film production company in 2007, Vitamin A Films after creating and developing the characters of Fran and Ramis for the internet in short story viral video form, quickly adopted and produced by Heavy.com. On Heavy, the characters had an exclusive web series, MANTIME: WITH FRAN AND RAMIS. As the Creative Director, Paul has since worked on many of the projects produced at Vitamin A Films as a Writer, Revision Writer, Script Consultant, and Actor.
Paul casts a wide net in his storytelling interests, showcasing a wide range of work: From BLUE MORNING, a political action pic about a group of soldiers taking over a park in Chicago; to SPOON JOB, a quirky comedy about a bank heist gone wrong; to THE LOST ONES, a family fantasy based upon the famed children's book by author, Maria Celeste Arraras; Paul is not afraid to search for a great story in any genre. Among Paul's many screenplays, his script, KNIGHTS OF BRYN MAWR, has achieved status on Kevin Spacey's Triggerstreet.com ranking within the top ten percentile of scripts on the site.
The short film, BOTTLED UP, (co-written by Paul) received critical acclaim in the festival circuit and received the CIFF Audience Award, and the indie film, LA I HATE YOU, which premiered in France at the Beaune Film Festival was awarded Best New Thriller.
The feature THE BAG MAN (co-written by Paul), starring John Cusack, Robert DeNiro, and Crispin Glover, debuted in theatres March 2014. Paul has worked on revisions for the horror feature, THE LINK, and in Nov penned the rewrites for the anticipated horror flick, ARBOR DEMON, and has worked as a script consultant for the dark thriller FACELESS (2021).
Currently, Paul has been optioned to write the pilot episode of the romantic comedy series, CAFE CON LECHE, and continues to develop the dark fantasy series, LITTLE RED DOOR.
